WHA Successfully Hosts 2024 Job Fair at WHA Industrial Zone 1 – Nghe An, Connecting Over 1,400 Job Seekers with Leading Enterprises

Nghe An, Vietnam – On September 28, 2024, WHA Industrial Zone 1 – Nghe An, in collaboration with the Dong Nam Economic Zone Authority and Nghi Loc District authorities, proudly hosted the 2024 WHA Job Fair. The event attracted over 1,400 attendees, including students, vocational graduates, and local job seekers, making it a significant milestone in fostering connections between job seekers and businesses.


From 9 AM to 12 PM, 15-20 businesses set up recruitment booths, more than 5,000 job opportunities were offered across various sectors, including manufacturing, engineering, logistics, HR, and administration. Attendees had the chance to explore employment options and engage directly with company representatives, which helped strengthen the local job market

Opening Remarks from Mr. Le Tien Tri, Head of the Management Board of Dong Nam Economic Zone

In his opening remarks, Mr. Le Tien Tri emphasized the importance of the event in addressing both current and future labor needs for Nghe An’s expanding industrial sector. He noted the strength of the local labor force, with 154 businesses currently operating in industrial parks and employing over 40,000 workers.
Mr. Tri highlighted the need for additional workforce, stating, "In 2024, over 22,000 workers were hired within the Dong Nam Economic Zone. However, labor retention remains a challenge, with 45% of the workforce seeking opportunities abroad." He also stressed that by the end of 2024, an additional 12,000 workers will be needed, with demand expected to rise to 43,000 by 2025. Mr. Tri concluded by expressing optimism about the job fair’s potential to connect job seekers with employers, contributing to the region’s growth.
Remarks from Ms. Tran Thi Anh Tuyet, Vice Chairman of Nghi Loc People's Committee

Ms. Tuyet underscored the significance of the job fair as a bridge between local authorities, industrial zones, and businesses. She provided an overview of Nghi Loc’s workforce, noting that 78.2% of its 52,000 working-age population have undergone vocational training, with 32.3% holding formal qualifications.
Ms. Tuyet pointed out that despite the district’s efforts in vocational training, there remains a need to match the growing demand for skilled labor. She called on companies to improve transparency in recruitment and encouraged further collaboration with educational institutions to address skill gaps.

Speech by Ms. Anchalee Prasertchand, Vice President of WHA Industrial Development

Ms. Anchalee expressed her appreciation to the Dong Nam Economic Zone Authority and Nghi Loc District authorities for their partnership in organizing the event. She reaffirmed WHA’s commitment to supporting both local businesses and the workforce, highlighting WHA Industrial Zone 1’s role as a major hub for international and local companies.
“WHA’s success is deeply intertwined with the success of the workforce,” she said, emphasizing the importance of the job fair in creating opportunities for local talent. Ms. Anchalee encouraged job seekers to take full advantage of the event by connecting with employers and exploring long-term career paths.

MOU Signing Ceremony

A highlight of the event was the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between WHA and Nghi Loc Vocational and Technical Secondary School. The MOU aims to address local skill gaps and improve workforce readiness through enhanced vocational training programs. This partnership underscores WHA’s commitment to supporting the sustainable growth of Nghe An's industrial sector.
