Nghe An, June 27, 2025 – As part of its ongoing commitment to operational excellence and customer support, WHA Industrial Zone 1 – Nghe An successfully hosted the 5th WHA Investor Club Meeting, featuring the theme “Power Outage Prevention Measures at WHA Industrial Zone.” The meeting brought together investors, tenants, and technical experts to discuss critical infrastructure topics and reinforce collaborative efforts toward power reliability.
The cornerstone of the meeting was a comprehensive presentation by Mr. Vu Dinh Ha – Director of Nghi Loc Power (EVN). They provided an in-depth update on the current power supply status, a detailed analysis of grid incidents from early 2025, and robust forward-looking plans to fortify the power grid.
According to EVN’s report, power to WHA Industrial Zone is efficiently supplied via the 110kV WHA substation (2x63MW), operating in a parallel mode to ensure continuous stability and redundancy. While the zone experienced a few brief disruptions earlier in the year, primarily attributed to weather conditions, insulation issues, and external factors, EVN highlighted that most incidents were swiftly resolved within minutes, and protective relays and automatic reclosing devices functioned effectively to minimize impact. Root causes, such as arc discharges and lightning damage, are being proactively addressed.
Looking ahead, EVN unveiled a proactive action plan designed to further enhance grid resilience, including:
- Enhanced Patrols: Increased day time & night time inspection patrols along WHA's 22kV feeders which be supplied from WHA 110kV Substation
- Advanced Protection: Installation of additional lightning arresters on long-span sections of Feeder 481 and 483.
- Preventative Maintenance: Regular high-pressure cleaning of transformer station and high voltage equipment to prevent flashovers.
- Capacity Expansion: Energization of new feeders (472 and 474 E51) to serve WHA Phase 2 tentatived by July 15, 2025, ensuring robust future supply.

The interactive Q&A session underscored strong investor engagement, with various critical questions raised:
- What measures are being taken by the IZ management board regarding power incidents to ensure no impact on company production?
- Was the sudden power outage on June 24 related to the construction of Feeder 472, and when will Feeder 472 be completed to meet power supply conditions?
- Based on Nghe An's climate experience in previous years, the coming months are expected to be typhoon season with a high probability of severe weather. What preventive measures or response plans are in place for power outages due to severe weather, and can a reliable power restoration time be guaranteed?
- In the event of a power outage requiring repair, how will the power company notify customers about the estimated restoration time?
In response to these inquiries, the Director of EVN Nghi Loc committed to upgrading handling procedures, ensuring early power restoration, and establishing a dedicated repair team. He acknowledged the unusually severe weather this year, with thunderstorms and rain extending into June instead of the usual intense heat, and affirmed EVN's utmost efforts to cope with these adverse conditions. In the event of an incident, notifications will be sent sequentially via Zalo group messages and phone calls to ensure clear communication. Contact points from both WHA and EVN were shared to ensure seamless communication for any future needs.
"Reliable and stable infrastructure is the cornerstone of a thriving industrial ecosystem," stated a WHA representative. "Our close collaboration with Nghi Loc EVN not only ensures uninterrupted operations for our valued customers but also reinforces trust and resilience for long-term sustainable growth within our industrial zones."
